So the Republicans want to totally get rid of the Affordable Care Act. Everything - preexisting conditions - everything! Reminds me of a "going out of business" sale.
At the same time, Trump and the Deplorables - the entire GOP - are going full throttle, pedal to the metal, attacking the Democrats over the Russia Investigation.
Alabama Representative Mo Banks (Republican) even resorted to quoting Adolph Hitler from "Mein Kampf" on the House floor in his psychotic attempt to label the Democrats as Socialists.
"In the big lie, there is always a certain force of
credibility because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily
corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than
consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of
their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small
lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but
would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.
It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths,
and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to
distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this
to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt
and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other
explanation."
Ironically while Trump is blasting away at the investigation, he is also saying "The Mueller report was great. It could not have been better. It said no obstruction, no collusion. It could not have been better.."

Confusing? Sure. Dishonest? Absolutely.
Attacking the Russia Investigation and accusing the Democrats of "treason", and asking Adam Shiff to resign, and pushing for a new investigation of Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration, plays directly to their demented base.
The Republicans believe that Trump will not be reelected, no matter what the polls are saying. They know Trump is a national disgrace. His days are numbered.
The Republicans can make the Kochs happy and generous, all at the same time. They just need to mount a last ditch effort to revoke the ACA. They retain their base and build a 2020 war chest.
What have they got to lose? Why not go for broke?
They plan to get every last bit of mileage out of Despicable Don. DD is too stupid to know what's going on. He's already toast. Hell, he'll ride whatever horse they put him on.
The Republicans believe they can keep the Senate even if they lose the Presidency and the Democrats retain the House. What's another 4 year political logjam to them?
Meanwhile Trump goes thump as they jettison him along with their excess baggage.
It's not like they don't already have a 2020 contingency plan in place.
Holy Moly!
