Using A Machete To Cut Through The Bullshit - Friendly Fire

Alexander the Great solved the "problem" of the Gordian knot by simply cutting through it. That's right. Where countless others failed trying to unravel its mystery, Alexander chose to use the tool he had at his disposal - his sword.
The problems of political corruption plaguing our country are way beyond what can be done with a sword. Our problems are more like those facing someone trying to get through an overgrown jungle. For that you need a machete.
Not everyone will succeed using a machete. Some people are more adept than others. Some people are just actors without any real experience.
Actors are not what is needed to cut through a jungle. You need a competent, skilled guide who knows how to wield a machete.
Let's start by clarifying what our problem is. Simply put, criminals and traitors have taken over our country.
Criminals have found their way into power because ultra wealthy people used their vast wealth to get incompetent, immoral people elected.
Traitors have found their way into power because our foreign adversaries basically did the same. They waged a cyber war and used blackmail to get their assets and puppets elected.
Our Executive Branch is totally compromised. Our Legislative Branch was totally compromised until last year when voters flipped the House and put Democrats in the majority. Our Judicial Branch is not yet totally compromised, but it's getting there. The same can be said for our voters.
Our Constitution is the basis for our "rule of law". This is the tool we've been given to deal with all our problems. It can be used properly, and it can be misused. Needless to say, it is being misused and abused by those in power today.
Happily, our founding fathers included a few remedies in case things got out of hand. We are already beyond most of those remedies because of the degree of corruption, but there is one specific tool that is available to the House of Representatives and no one else - not no one. That tool is impeachment.
Because of our efforts in 2018, the House of Representatives has a Democratic majority. They can decide to start the impeachment process and no one can stop them. That process is powerful. It's so powerful that the bullshit is flying in terms of whether or not to use it. In fact, the bullshit is proving to be a worse obstacle than an overgrown jungle.
First and foremost, it's important to know that while the Republican Party is totally corrupted, the Democrats are not all choir boys and gals. Just like Republicans there are Democrats who can be blackmailed and subjected to kompromat.
Blackmail is not limited to politicians. We are just finding out that others have fallen victim to it as well.
So let's start cutting through the Republican bullshit in regard to impeachment. The Republicans want the Democrats to impeach Trump. Yeah right, so why are the Republicans doing anything and everything they can to block any and all investigations - obstructing justice - ignoring subpoenas - lying - claiming executive privilege? On my, this is just too stupid to even discuss.
Okay, enough with the Republican bullshit. Let's go through some of the bullshit the Democrats are shoveling. Number 1 - It's pointless to impeach Trump because the votes aren't there in the Senate to convict him and the voters will get angry and vote for Republicans in 2020.
Let's examine Nixon, Clinton and Trump. Nixon and Clinton were actually impeached. A lot of people like to point to the Clinton impeachment when making the argument not to impeach Trump.
Nixon resigned because of the Watergate Committee hearings. That's right. Public sentiment was against impeachment before the hearings started and the Republicans in Congress were against it as well.
The hearings were so damaging to Nixon that the Republicans in Congress stopped supporting him. Barry Goldwater actually met with Nixon and told him to resign because impeachment was "inevitable".
The Republicans suffered in the next elections. In 1976, Jimmy Carter won the election beating incumbent Republican President Gerald Ford. Gerald had pardoned Nixon. People didn't like that.
When the Republicans impeached Clinton, the public did not like what they saw during the hearings. Clinton was being impeached because he got a blow job in the Oval Office. What can I tell you?
People didn't think this was a legitimate basis for impeachment. Clinton won his trial in the Senate. His public approval ratings went up. In 2000, the Republicans lost seats in both the House and Senate. True, Bush defeated Gore in the 2000 Presidential race, but Ralph Nader, a 3rd Party Candidate (Green Party), also ran for President in that election. Nader took Democratic voters away from Gore. Bush actually lost the popular vote to Gore. I've got just 2 words - Electoral College.
Both Nixon and Clinton were charged with Obstruction of Justice. Nixon was also charged with Abuse of Power and Contempt of Congress. Clinton was also charged with Perjury.
Nixon called the investigation into his abuses a witch hunt. Sound familiar?
I'm a skeptic when it comes to crystal balls. No one knows how the 2020 elections will go. No one. So let's just stop with that bullshit okay?
I was mostly alone in believing that Trump would win the 2016 elections. I figured the two Third Party candidates in my calculus along with the fallout from Bernie's running in the Democratic primaries.
I also considered Comey's pre-election statements about Clinton's email, WikiLeaks releasing hacked DNC documents and emails, and reports on Russian involvement.
My prediction was accurate - the polls weren't, the pundits weren't, the news media wasn't, and the politicians weren't. Never underestimate a grandpa.
Democratic bullshit Number 2 - we have to wait. What are they waiting for? Who are they waiting for? Godot? A fairy godmother?
So here's what I base my case for "impeach now" on. First it's the sworn duty of every person in the House to support and defend the Constitution. Anyone who doubts that we are in the worst Constitutional crisis since the Civil War is a fool and should be ignored. What can I say? Ignore fools.
Second, the Constitution contains/proscribes the remedy for protecting the Constitution in these circumstances. The members of the House need to do their jobs.
Police are supposed to investigate crimes. They are supposed to arrest and charge people based upon the evidence. They are supposed to follow the appropriate criminal codes when doing so. They are not supposed to consider who might try the case and what that person's/persons' political affiliation might be.
Something else to think about - Why take anything the anti-impeachment advocates say at face value? Democrats arguing against impeachment may not be telling the truth. They may be afraid or compromised.
Finally, impeachment will not win over any of Trump's base. I agree. So what? Who cares? They represent a minority of the voters.
I'm not an attorney. Okay, okay. Over 650 former prosecutors just came out saying that Trump would have been indicted if he weren't the president. Other attorney's with actual impeachment experience are advocating for it as well. They think the time is now.
You do not stop corruption by surrendering to it.
By not following up on their duty to defend us, Democrats are driving a wedge among their supporters and they are validating Trump's claims that he is innocent of all wrongdoings.
They are giving Trump and the Republicans a clean bill of health and letting him write it.
Holy Moly!
